Recent geography literature has understood ‘the body‘ mainly as representation.
This paper argues for an increased recognition of the body as a material entity.
Disability is used to illustrate the importance of reinterpreting the biology of the body and mind. This reinterpretation of the body will, the paper concludes, strengthen research intothe geography of health and impairment.
