Abstract

Dialogue systems attempt to capture structured communication with the aim of understanding, improving, and automatically recreating su communication. This paper discusses dialogue templates: blueprints that can be instantiated and combined to form argumentative dialogues. These templates provide a generic way of representing individual dialogue systems and allow us to generalise techniques for investigation, generation and recognition of dialogues. © 2012 The authors and IOS Press.
