Abstract

Estimates the rate at which the alternatives to prosecution provided by the Criminal Proceedings etc. (Reform) (Scotland) Act 2007 Pt 3 are being used, based on figures relating to the number of offences "cleared up", "disposed of" or made the subject of "criminal reports". Considers some of the difficulties in obtaining accurate data on the use of the prosecution alternatives. Assesses the significance of the issue. © 2011 Sweet & Maxwell
