This article reports on the so-called "sons of "Cadder" cases in which the UK Supreme Court has shed further light on the implications of recognising suspects' right to legal advice prior to police questioning. It assesses whether these cases have further improved the position of suspects, and the extent to which they vindicate or repudiate the arguments made in an earlier article in this journal. © 2012 Thomson Reuters (Professional) UK Limited.
