The Architecture and Planning Research Group within the Architecture and Planning Programs in the School of the Environment includes three thematic subject areas of research: architecture and the enviroment, architecture and intellectual culture, and planning theory and practice. These themes encompass four research methods: design practice, critical textual reading and analysis, field measurement, and social science data observation and evaluation. Our overaching ethos is shaped by the concerns of polymathic Patrick Geddes for regionalism within a global context.
