Description
Highlighting The Ignorant Art School's focus on decolonising the dominant narratives and systems of knowledge creation in artistic and pedagogical practices, 12 Hour Sit-in Revel International Symposium was a convivial convergence for visions and praxes of radical, ethical and accessible pedagogies from both the Western and Global Majority countries.The large scale outdoor public event featured conversations, dance, music, performance, readings, screening, workshops by 29 internationally recognised educators, artists, designers, musicians, performers, curators, thinkers, filmmakers, writers, alongside Scotland based art and culture practitioners, art tutors, students and graduates.
Noted contributors include Prof. Regina Bittner (the Deputy Director and Head of Research of Bauhaus Dessau), Grant Watson (co-curator of Bauhaus Imaginasta,) Gudskul, the educational platform of rangrupa a Jakarta based art collective who curated Documenta 15 in Kassel, Serubiri Moses (New York based Ugandan writer and curator, co-curator of 10th Berlin Biennale of Contemporary Art).
