Description

33 delegates from 8 Scottish universities will come together to consider how they can make their research more enterprising - be it opportunities for a start up company, a creative business or a social enterprise. The programme of speakers, site tours and personal reflection time aims to give delegates a greater awareness of some of the potential career paths that are out there as well as confidence that they can make the best use of the opportunities presented to them. They will be asked to look at potential collaborations with other delegates and there will be an opportunity to bid for funding on such projects. Over the two days at Dundee they will hear from a range of speakers from researchers involved in the creative industries, academics, local businesses and support agencies. The attached programme has a full list of speakers and their biographies. The Cultural Enterprise Office will be delivering their Starting Out workshop which will provide delegates with some practical tools and insights into what it means to be starting a small, creative business and working for themselves. Tours have been organised for both the DCA and District 10 so that delegates can see some of the inspiring venues that Dundee has.
