Workshop Summary - Advancing Digital Inclusion in Higher Education
NUST Business School, Islamabad - 19-20 August 2025

As part of the British Council-funded collaboration between the University of Dundee and NUST, we successfully delivered a two-day workshop on Advancing Digital Inclusion in Higher Education. The event brought together faculty, professional services staff, and students to build capacity in digital accessibility and inclusive pedagogy.

Highlights included:

Accessibility awareness training delivered by international experts.

Assistive technology demonstrations showcasing tools such as screen readers, immersive readers, and transcription software.

Inclusive curriculum design sessions, exploring Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and practical teaching strategies.

Interactive group discussions and co-creation activities, where participants shared experiences and designed solutions to local challenges.

Student contributions, including presentations of assistive technology projects.

The workshop emphasised practical implementation and fostered dialogue between UK and Pakistani colleagues, ensuring context-sensitive approaches for the Global South.

Next steps:

Establishing a Global South–North mentoring and networking group.

Developing a shared resource hub (toolkits, guides, and case studies).

Continuing collaborative sessions on embedding digital inclusion into pedagogy and institutional practice.
