Description
The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive and Accessible Technology (APPGAT) was established in 2017 to disseminate knowledge, generate debate and facilitate engagement on ATech amongst Members of both Houses of Parliament. The group explores how public policy can take advantage of technology to make society more inclusive for disabled people. The APPG has produced reports on employment (Connect to Success 2025), social care (Smarter Homes for Independent Living 2022), and education (Accessible Virtual Learning Environments 2019). The cross-party think tank Policy Connect provides the secretariat for group. The ATech Spring Reception 2025 is the first in a new annual tradition for the APPG. This inaugural Spring Reception event highlights the life-changing potential of technology to improve outcomes for SEND learners, and particularly those with complex communication needs. It is the first meeting hosted by our new Chair, Josh Fenton-Glynn MP.
