Description
Artist Adam Benmakhlouf will share how they use drawing as a means of recording and imagining alternative and radical kinds of relationships, sexualities and lifestyles. Adam’s drawings and experimental comics record their lived experiences of camp friendship, gender nonconformity and attempts to love, work and/or live with one another as queer people of colour with complex trauma. For this illustrated talk, Adam will create an expanded drawing collage as a visual aid that will sometimes work with their verbal presentation, but also depart and challenge the points spoken aloud. Audiences will also be prompted at points to draw using any materials around, as an invitation to picture anew and reflect on the relationships that make us using line, gesture and mark making.| Period | 8 Dec 2020 |
