Bacchanal closing event

Description

Bacchanal - Le We Be Free explores the historical roots of Caribbean Carnivals, which were developed by enslaved people introducing drums as a link to their African heritage. It features artwork by Ashanti Harris with related pieces from the University’s Museum Collections as well as archival material exploring carnivals in the Caribbean as well as Dundee’s own history of carnivals, fairs, masques and pageants. Join the exhibition's curator, researcher and artist Cat Dunn, for this special drop-in closing event featuring specially selected soca music and some Caribbean refreshments.
