    Description

Let’s write about plants! This online creative writing workshop, run by poet, nature writer, and artist Heather H. Yeung, will give space, time, and guidance for participants to write their own poems or stories in response to botanical objects from the beautiful Victorian herbarium collections at Dundee. No previous writing experience is required – only interest! Through guided exercises and discussions in response to different objects, and close reading of other poetry and writing about flowers, we will move from ideas and inspiration through first and second draft stages. The workshop will give space and time for you to connect with other participants, to explore different ways of looking at and writing about plant-life, and to be inspired.

This workshop is for self-identifying female survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse aged 18+. This includes cis women, trans women and non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of women. An experienced support worker will be present.

The workshop will take place on Zoom and will have live closed captioning. Data reimbursement and childcare reimbursement are available on request.
