Description
Ireland and Scotland in the British imperial and Atlantic world
This panel seeks to explore and discuss the nature of Irish and Scottish engagement with the British imperial system and the Atlantic world in the long nineteenth century. It will consist of three speakers, each focusing on a different thematic approach to address the overall panel topic: religion, migration and class. Through these three themes, the panel will throw new light on both the nature of Britain and Ireland’s engagement with overseas enterprise and the impact the outside world had on Scotland and Ireland.
