The CHEAD Annual Conference 2024 Unlocked. Creativity and Culture for Positive Change aims to share and build on diverse perspectives within art and design and art and design education, and will focus on how we can re-imagine and co-create our current and future curricula and research to enable creativity, creative communities, creative ecologies to flourish and to realise the capacity for agenda-setting policy, action, and impact through creativity via discursive themes.

This dynamic workshop, titled "Moonshots for the Future of Art and Design Education," was run in partnership with the UK Design Council and invited participants to explore bold, visionary concepts for the future of creative education. Using a hands-on, immersive Pop-up Imaginarium Stand, the session employed the principles of design thinking to spark radical, forward-thinking solutions for the evolving landscape of art and design teaching. Participants worked collaboratively to challenge traditional models of education, focusing on transformative strategies that integrate technology, sustainability, and cross-disciplinary approaches.

The workshop provided a platform for participants to engage in creative problem-solving, addressing key issues such as accessibility, global connectivity, and the need for more adaptable, inclusive learning environments. The goal was to spark a new wave of educational innovation, where art and design play a pivotal role in shaping the future of both the creative industries and society at large.
