Description
The project is to engage individuals from migrant and BME groups and members of staff who work with these groups from the local community to share their experiences, views and perceived challenges and opportunities to improve migrant and BME groups’ research participation, and therefore to identify effective strategies to engage these socially excluded groups in health and oral health research. The objectives are:[1] to work collaboratively with the staff members from the local community to develop the co-design/co-production workshop.
[2] to deliver the co-design/co-production workshops to invite individuals from migrant and BME groups and other stakeholders (including community workers and University researchers) to share their experience and opinions of research participation, to identify barriers and enablers, and to work collaboratively with them to identify effective strategies of improving participation in health and oral health research.
[3] to co-produce a poster and a booklet to highlight ‘Dos & Don’ts’ to improve the inclusivity and to maximise participation of research for a wide range of migrant and BME groups.
