Description
Leuphana College Lecture Series "Science in the (Art)Lab:"
For many years copyright law and its reformation have been causing fierce controversies. Artists and their interest often feature prominently these arguments. But how are creative processes and copright really related to each other? On which (maybe even obsolete?) understanding of property and creativity do recent copyright laws draw? And which part do digital and network technologies in these conflicts? What can initiatives such as Creative Commons really accomplish for free culture? And can authors and producers work together with users to find solutions that provide for the accessibility of cultural goods as well as a fair compensation for artists?
Cornelia Sollfrank addresses these abstract questions on the basis of her own work as artist and researcher.
