This session introduced a practical, AI‑supported approach to designing clear, consistent, and transparent marking rubrics that strengthen assessment quality across modules. It demonstrated how AI can help refine criterion‑aligned descriptors, streamline moderation, and enhance the clarity of expectations for students, while also showing staff how to integrate rubrics seamlessly into Turnitin and Blackboard to support efficient, standardised marking workflows. The presentation highlighted how AI‑enhanced rubric design improves feedback quality, reduces variability between markers, and supports fairer, more reliable assessment practices, aligning with institutional priorities for high‑quality learning, teaching, and responsible use of emerging technologies.
