Description
A new commission for work online as part of What is a Living Archive? Curating the Unruly Materiality of Contemporary Art. Artist: Holly Davey. With support from the project curators, Judit Bodor and Adam Lockhart, Holly will be reactivating the Rewind archive, with a particular focus on the video works by women artists. The artist will reimagine the already existing female narrative, readdressing the gender balance with the archive and revealing something currently unseen. The artwork produced is a series of responses in written and photographic collage form creating a fragmented conversation between the works, creating a character for each and writing a dialogue between them. The artwork is presented and archived as a split-screen online live zoom sharing/reading with BSL interpreter and live captioning in January 2022. A recording of the live stream will be accessioned to the University of Dundee collections and made available on the Curating Living Archives website (www.curatinglivingarchives.network) as an artwork alongside the photographic collages and text produced and the artwork.Period | 1 Sept 2021 → 31 Jan 2022 |
