Description
Based in Baxter Park, Dundee, the Big Back Garden is an exciting new collaborative project that enables people to share their storiesGeographer, Dr Susan Mains, and Designer, Christine Kingsley, discuss their collaborative research methods for capturing the changing use of Baxter Park in Dundee.
Introduced by Archivist Dr Jan Merchant, they look at how the Park was designed for the people of Dundee to escape the industrial city in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today the ‘Peoples Park’ is evolving to meet the needs of a post-industrial population.
Find out how Susan and Christine explore different ways that residents and visitors can share their favourite park activities today, and how social media and mindful reflection can help everyone remember their off-to-the-park-top-play time.
Visit the Big Back Garden website at www.bigbackgarden.com for more information on the project and to record your visit to Baxter Park.
