Description
Caroline Brown (archivist) and Jacqueline Eccles (lecturer in mental health nursing) discuss their project bringing service users and asylum records together.Historical records from Dundee and Angus mental asylums are helping people with experience of mental health challenges. The project supports local people explore the experiences of their predecessors. It makes full use of the large collection held by the University of Dundee’s archives, helping local people place the experiences of those whose stories they discover.
In the second part of this project, participants told their own stories, allowing future generations to learn from their experiences.
