A panel discussion with members of the public

'Travel back in time to Victorian Glasgow and immerse yourself in a scandalous love affair that spiralled into a tale of murder. Our panel of forensic experts, historians, and legal representatives will dissect the case, including toxicology reports, handwriting evidence and witness testimonies and compare current scientific techniques with those of over 160 years ago.

The case was the focus of the latest Inside Forensic Science Podcast where we ask experts – ‘what might happen differently today?’ Discover what unfolded in this gripping courtroom drama from 1857 in Glasgow. Explore the challenges faced by 19th-century forensic scientists and the developments that shaped modern investigative methods.

This event will ignite your imagination, allowing you to step into the shoes of investigators and legal professionals. Whether you're a true crime enthusiast, history buff, or simply intrigued by the fusion of science and justice, this panel promises riveting discussions and thought-provoking insights. There will also be refreshments.'

The event will take place at Dundee Contemporary Arts, Meeting Room.
