We are holding an open session on Tuesday 8 November in the Dalhousie Building where you are invited to join us for a presentation from the report’s author, Dr Cassandra Gooptar, followed by a panel discussion.Panel members include Professor Shane O’Neill (Senior Vice-Principal), Dr Gooptar, Nyasha Mutembwa (DUSA President), Audrey Oko (African-Caribbean Society), Emeritus Professor Chris Whatley, and Mayra Crowe (Co-Chair of Black and Ethnic Minority Staff Network).
Our anticipated areas of discussion include, but may not be limited to:
• How to develop and expand on the University of Dundee Founders Project
• Work towards decolonising the curriculum
• Reparative justice and memorialisation
• Promoting public ‘ownership’ of these histories, through consultations and public engagement activities.
The open session, which is in-person but will be recorded, takes place from 4.05pm to 5.15pm in Lecture Theatre 3 in the Dalhousie Building.
