Description
Dr Susan P Mains was invited to give a keynote public presentation at the V&A Dundee as part of a special panel on 25 February, 2023, addressing "Souvenir: postcards as place, memory, identity." The sold out event was part of a series of public engagement activities taking place in relation to the exhibition, "Sincerely, Valentines – From Postcards to Greetings Cards" (running until 14 May, 2023). In her talk, Dr Mains discussed her ongoing research into the ways in which early Valentine and Sons photography provides a window into understanding Scotland-Jamaica connections and the promotion of tourist landscapes.
