Description
Exhibition of Front Window video art installation by Adam Lockhart.
Curtain twitchers, neighbourhood watch, voyeurism, ‘peeping toms’, surveillance, CCTV, spying, stalking, web tracking. Society is obsessed with what everyone is up to, making the privacy of the home no longer sacred. At the same time, the social media revolution has got us hooked on shamelessly exposing ourselves to the world. Using re-edited footage from Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window (1954) and presented in a multiscreen sculptural format, Front Window blurs and questions the boundaries between audience and performer, highlighting the difficulties we have between privacy and public.
