Game Designer

Description

A project that lets members of the public design and play their own park games was created as part of Dundee Design Festival 2021. Worked in collaboration with Dr Lynn Love, lecturer in Computer Arts at School of Design and Informatics at Abertay University and local designers Agency of None to bring the creative project to the city’s Hilltown Park.

We developed a co-design tool which showcases the design process of creating a light-hearted and fun experience through playing a game, based upon mini-golf, titled the Game Designer. Members of the public designed their own concept, and then the team at the festival selected a few who saw their ideas made into a full-scale game, ready to play. The joint project highlights the importance of promoting the value of design throughout the city, especially to those who might not have as many opportunities to experience such activities.
