Holly Davey: 'A Script for an Archive: Women'

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesOther event

This event premiers a new artwork by Holly Davey commissioned as part of What is a Living Archive? Curating the Unruly Archives of Contemporary Art research project led by Judit Bodor (Baxter Fellow, Curatorial Practice) and Adam Lockhart (Media Art Archivist and Lecturer) at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee.

‘A Script for an Archive …’ is a recent body of work exploring – often marginalised - female voices within archival spaces. For this commission Davey produced a multi-component piece consisting of a script, a performance and a series of digital collages from her research of women artists’ works in the REWIND Artists Video Archive.

The artist will introduce her research before presenting the performance for the first and only time live. The performance will be recorded as part of the event to be exhibited on the research website alongside the script, and the collages. There will be a Q&A after the performance.
