Description
An open discussion designed to viewed by both experts and interested parties within the field of Sustainability. Held at an event space as part of the MSIP 21 event, all demonstrators and attendees were either directly involved in the field of sustainability and circular economy, or were interested in becoming part of that focus. The talk was based around providing an overview of what the "Aftermarket" actually means, and its growing importance for traditional manufacturing. The talk then moved onto highlighting the "Re" processes used to fold End-Of-Life products back into the market such as Remanufacturing/Reconditioning/Repair/Repurpose/Recovery/Recycle.
Statistics and opportunities within specifically the Remanufacturing sector were given some focus, with the increasing legislative and financial incentives given prominence as this is a valuable aspect to any business wishing to engage with sustainable ideals.
The talk was then rounded out with options for further contact and discussion with myself and UoD if any parties were interested. So far 2 separate companies have been in contact and early discussion are in place for potential research collaboration in future.
