    Description

Alex Roberts designed and delivered a Life Drawing workshop, a participatory event accompanying the exhibition The Scale of Things, Cooper Gallery, 26 January - 6 April 2024.

Given the nature of the exhibition's presentation of filmed naked figures and associated enquiry surrounding human relationships, Alex invited participants to observe and draw directly from the exhibition's moving image artwork. A chance for attendees from varying levels of drawing ability and confidence were welcomed to record the figure amongst the unique exhibition setting. Affecting experiential drawing and teaching engagement.

The Scale of Things presents, three artists' (Saodat Ismailova, Grace Ndiritu, Margaret Tait) moving image works that consider relations between humans and non-humans forming an exploration through history, intimacy and spirituality. Co-curated by Sophia Yadong Hao (Cooper Gallery, DJCAD, University of Dundee) and Professor Sarah Perks (Teesside University).
