Description
Mario visited us from FIOCRUZ in Brazil. His supervisor, Prof. Floriano Silva is establishing drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) capabilities in his institution and sent Mario to learn some new techniques to take back.
His learning objectives were to: • Learn new experiments; kinetic solubility, microsomal clearance and MDCK permeability • Learn to maintain MDCK cells and quantify cell monolayer effectively. • Learn the basics of LCMS analysis and how to processes analytical data. • Learn the DMPK data processing for each assay, understanding outcomes and triage data. • Work independently and safely in a DMPK lab, adhering to lab and centre rules. • Gain first-hand experience in a Drug Discovery setting.
