Description

The Division of Mathematics at the University of Dundee hosted an event for S5 and S6 pupils and their teachers from local schools, as part of Maths Week Scotland. Dr Philip Murray gave an engaging talk on the seminal 1917 book “On Growth and Form”, which Professor and father of Mathematical Biology D’Arcy Thompson wrote during his time at what is now the University of Dundee. This was followed by activities involving Mathematical Brainteasers and Surprising Statistics. Teachers fed back that they and their pupils enjoyed the afternoon immensely.
