Moira Macgregor: Dundee's Fashion Pioneer

Activity: Other activity typesPublic engagement and outreach - festival/exhibition

    Description

Produced for the BBC’s Art That Made Us festival, this online exhibition showcases the work of Moira Macgregor (1931-2016), a Dundee artist who built an international career as a fashion illustrator, editor and painter. In the 1960s and 70s, Macgregor became known for her stylish fashion illustrations, which reflected the spirit of the age. Later, her art focused on food, first depicted with detailed realism but later evolving into a more abstract and pared-down style. Matthew Jarron, of University of Dundee Museums, assesses Macgregor's life and work through the art held in the collections there.
