Description
This archival visit was organised by Bodor in collaboration with Dr Heidi Egginton (National Library of Scotland, NLS) hosting members of The Curating The Digital Attic Archive research network to view and research the Attic Archive collection at NLS, in particular relating to the Marshall Anderson decade (1990s) and the ae phor born-digital decade (2010s). Bodor invited retired archivist Sally Harrower who acquired the material to NLS to discuss the process and her experience with the artist. Participants were able to exchange knowledge regarding the how the different elements of the Attic across collections might complement each other. The visit also led to the realisation of how different aesthetically are the material produced by the different characters of the Attic Archive and that some material connected to the same projects have been controversially split by the artist between collections. Insights from this visit will feed into developing the research project's web-platform which aims to draw the physically dispersed archive back together on a digital interface. The conversations have been recorded and will be used to underpin research Outputs.
