On Caryl Churchill's Omissions, or, How little do we need to hear to know what's going on?

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

The playwright Caryl Churchill's work has become increasingly marked by forms of condensation and fragmentation in the search for the most effective form with which to pose questions. This paper examines the shifts in her work, with particular emphasis on the notion of the play as akin to sculpture, reading this against an aesthetic tradition in which sculpture is privileged.
