Workshop summary

Nearly all high-quality scientific research involves collaboration – and indeed beyond academic research many jobs require collaborations both within and beyond organisational boundaries. This workshop explores how you can become a highly effective collaborator – one that people wish to work with repeatedly. Within the workshop we will discuss:
• How to initiate effective collaborations
• Moving collaborations from initial discussions to long-term productive collaborations
• The behavioural skills of effective collaborators During the workshop we will explore these issues through several activities exploring how to collaborate with others attending the workshop – be prepared for the possibility of finding a new collaborator during the workshop.

Aims and Objectives

By the end of the workshop you will:
• Understand the behaviours of effective research collaborators.
• Be able to identify and apply a process for building effective collaborations.
