Open Science Workgroup (German Psychological Society, chapter Clinical Psychology) (External organisation)

Description

I am a member of this workgroup since its inception and I support different activities. For example, I was part of a team of authors who wrote the workgroup's response to two papers that proposed new principles to guide hiring and promotion in psychology (published in 2024, see link on this page). I contributed to the pre-print "How to approach open science practices for clinical psychology research" (published in 2024). And in 2025 I was part of the award committee for the "Open Science Award" awarded by the DGPs chapter "Clinical Psychology".

Overall, the workgroup aims to:

Make open science practices in clinical psychology and psychotherapy more visible and facilitate their implementation for all interested parties, e.g., through cookbooks (instructions for using open science), workshops (such as at the German Psychotherapy Congress), and the awarding of the Open Science Prize of the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Section.

Support and advise the section leadership on open science-related topics, e.g., in statements, at panel discussions, with politicians or third-party research parties.

Networking among section members on open science topics in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, as well as beyond (e.g., within the framework of the DGPs' Commission for Open Science and the German Reproducibility Network).

Recruit new section members through active dissemination of the working group's activities and the associated increased visibility of the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Section.

Create a platform for the necessary interdisciplinary exchange with complementary disciplines.
