Description

Thank you to all who provided feedback on our application for the Race Equality Charter. We have now finalised our submission to Advance HE for the bronze charter mark.

Together with colleagues who have worked on this and other aspects of our commitment to tackling racism and inequality, I am hosting an event where we will present the major points in our submission and discuss our ongoing commitment to tackling racism and racial inequalities.

This session will take place at 2.15 pm on Wednesday 3 November on Microsoft Teams Live. You can join us via this link, which will be live from the time of the event start.

I will introduce the session and speak on our commitment to pursuing the Race Equality Charter.

I will be joined by a panel comprising:

Professor Hari Hundal, our Race Equality Charter Lead
Zechariah Laari, DUSA Vice-President Academia
Ajit Trivedi, Head of Equality and Diversity
Hari will give an overview of our submission for the Race Equality Charter and our associated action plan. Zechariah will present the DUSA perspective on the REC, and together we will answer any questions you have for us.

The University condemns racism and discrimination in all its forms. We must be prepared to identify and challenge racism.

The University Executive Group and Court are fully committed to implementing the action plan to help tackle issues of racism and inequality faced by our staff and students.

I hope you can join us next week.
