Description
The second meeting of the newly launched Scottish Cultural Policy Research Network will take place on Monday, 19th of June, at the V & A Museum in Dundee. Themed around the topic of 'The creative sector and post-Covid recovery in Scotland', this event will aim to bring together policymakers, consultants, artists, businesses, and other actors in the Scottish creative economy to discuss areas relating to:What we have learned from the Covid-19 pandemic and how can we use this learning going forward as we overcome further unprecedented challenges;
The realities of funding in the current environment and how this will shape the working conditions of artists in the future;
Sustainability of freelance careers and the challenges and reality of a creative 'job market' for young artists working today.
The Network is a new initiative funded by the Scottish Universities Insight Institute and coordinated by the University of Aberdeen. It results from a collaboration between the University of Aberdeen, The Glasgow School of Art and the University of Dundee, with Associate Partners, the University of Glasgow and Creative Scotland and The Boekman Foundation as International Partner.
The purpose of the Network is twofold:
To bring together people with an interest in cultural policy research who are based in Scotland: policymakers, consultants, artists, businesses, and other actors in the Scottish creative economy, to facilitate knowledge exchange, collaboration and to raise the profile of cultural policy research produced in Scotland.
To explore avenues to bring this knowledge to bear on Scotland's cultural policy-making and implementation processes.
More information about the Network can be found here.
