The Library of Innerpeffray - Festival of Reading ‘Wild Words’

Invited author to help celebrate the joy of the written word at the Library of Innerpeffray’s third Festival of Reading. The theme Wild Words included writing inspired by the wild nature of Scotland and included events for adults and children.

Using Home Sweet Hamish as a workshop thematic, I worked with the children to discuss behaviour issues and bad habits. Inspired by the animal’s plan in the book – the children were asked to identify a member of their family, pet or friend who displayed bad habits. Then, using a blank blue print worksheet similar to the ‘blue print’ plan in the book – the children were tasks with drawing a plan to solve the problem.
