UDSB SDI FUNDING "Arriving at the End of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Contractual Journey: Is Scotland Ready?"

Activity: Other activity typesFunding - grants and income which support research related activities

    Description

This is a case study project based on two potential local authorities in Scotland who operate PPPs with private contractors. Taking a retrospective whilst forward-looking perspective, this project aims to explore the impact that PPP, as a financing/contracting model, has on the UK’s ageing infrastructure market, with a particular timely focus on the contract ends and handing over of earlier PPP projects signed before or around the new century. Going beyond the financial and economic-oriented viewpoints which have been widely discussed in prior PPP researchers (see Andon, 2012; Helby Petersen, 2019), this project incorporates a critical and interdisciplinary lens to unfold the status quo and implications of PPPs' contractual end agenda both empirically and theoretically, feedbacking to further policy-making and implementation.
