Terms of Reference (TOR)

“The purpose of the Biodiversity and Campus as Living Lab Working Group is to support the Climate Action Group to create a climate action plan, with a wellbeing and biodiversity focus, that helps to raise the profile of social and enable environmental sustainability across our landed estate through setting achievable targets and developing an implementation plan with milestones to achieve net-zero emissions.”

The climate action toolkit has been adopted by the Climate Action Network to focus effort on what universities should be doing in relation to climate action.

Note the Climate Action Networks statement from its TOR:

“It is crucial to set the university’s climate targets, and in parallel, decide which areas to focus on. In order to set the targets, it was agreed it is important to produce a situation report, which will provide a better understanding of the university’s internal approach i.e. what are we doing and who is doing it? As well as highlighting where the university sits in relation to its peers because there is currently a lack of clarity around what the institution is doing within this space.
