Activity: Other activity typesPublic engagement and outreach - festival/exhibition

Description

The Jalview team has taken advantage of Jalview’s easy-to-use interface to develop a variety of materials suitable for schools and home learning. The exercises are designed to let pupils view and interact with a selection of biological molecules such as DNA.
In this activity the participants can view the haemoglobin gene from an extinct woolly mammoth genome, as well examine its haemoglobin crystal structure. Then compare it to other animals including close relatives such as the African elephant and Indian elephant.
