Description
Inspired by the seminal dance piece Rosas danst Rosas by internationally celebrated Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, a series of participatory workshops We Dance Ourselves! as part of Cooper Gallery's major project Of Other Spaces: Where Does Gesture Become Event?. Rosas danst Rosas was first performed in 1983 by De Keersmaeker with her contemporaries. The fierceness of the movements in the performance is countered by small everyday gestures and the performance is unequivocally feminine and the piece has been considered as a statement of a womanʼs power and a feminine stance on sexual expression.Period | 16 Nov 2016 → 17 Feb 2017 |
