    Description

This event at BIRMAC, London, celebrated the launch of the Open Access publication ‘What Will Be Already Exists’ [Transcript Verlag, Berlin] that I have contributed to with the co-authored chapter [artpool.hu A User's Guide]. The book includes ten chapters written by different authors selected by the editors from papers presented in the international conference, Active Archives and Art Networks, Budapest, Hungary [2021]. The volume addresses the challenge of continuity, sustainability, and institutionalization of archives established by Eastern European artists.

The book launch event included art scholar, critic, and curator Ieva Astahovska (Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, Riga, Latvia) and art historian and curator, Cristian Nae (George Enescu National University of Arts, Iasi, Romania), offering their responses on the publication, followed by a panel discussion with the volume editors and authors, including me. Chaired by Dr Sophie Hope (Department of Film Media and Cultural Studies, Birkbeck College).
