Description
Martin has been exploring the importance of love as an element of professional practice in youth work and other types of work with young people for around ten years, during which time he has engaged with hundreds of practitioners from across the globe in an attempt to formulate a means of embedding ‘professional love’ in our work. As part of his involvement in this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, where he is one of the presenters in the Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas, Martin has attempted to bring some light-hearted relief to what can otherwise be a deeply serious subject. In this presentation, Martin draws on his Fringe show, bringing together some of the ideas from his research, blended them with some anecdotes from his extensive history of working with young people, and creating a space where he interacts with participants to create an engaging and alternative take on academic inquiry.Period | 24 Sept 2024 |
