World Ethical Data Forum - Heidegger and Technology Talk.

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

A German philosopher who is best known for contributions to phenomenology, hermeneutics, and existentialism, Heidegger is somewhat of a divisive figure in the world of philosophy. Despite passing before the creation of the modern internet, his work has been applied to many areas of technology, especially in relation to his Dasein concept. In this discussion, Todd Mei and Dominic Smith delve into this world, and bring his work into the 21st century, applying it to the many technologies and innovations that form a part of our everyday lives.
