    Description

The University of Dundee's Continuing Education programme has launched a new management course that enables people looking to enhance their career prospects to do so by combining work and study.

The Graduate Certificate in Management will be delivered on a part-time evening study basis with intakes in September and January. Candidates will increase their knowledge base as they develop the expertise required to become a successful manager through a series of practical, interactive classes and coursework assessments.

Over an 18-month period, students will complete modules teaching them the skills essential in good managers, including Human Resource Management, Operations Management and Strategic Management.

Each module will delivered over a 12-week block with classes held one evening a week and designed to encourage the exchange of knowledge and ideas among participants. Participants will be fully matriculated students of the University and able to access Library, IT and other facilities.

Continuing Education's Kaye Stevenson said, 'We are delighted to expand our provision of flexible, attractive courses with the Graduate Certificate in Management. We know there are a lot of people who would like to move into management, or to become a more effective manager, but who need to hone their skills or gain more confidence to do so.

'By attending classes one night a week, students can obtain these skills and gain the certificate at the end of the course. Our targeted modules have been devised to be as effective as possible in helping them to gain a wide understanding of the attributes required for a successful career in management.'

Fees are set annually in line with those for full-time undergraduate study, and students may be eligible for a grant to cover all or part of the cost.

The closing date for applications for the September intake is Monday, August 5th. Application forms can be obtained by calling Kaye Stevenson on 01382 388298, or emailing [email protected] or downloaded from www.dundee.ac.uk/parttimestudy.
