    Press/Media: Other

    Description

Together with Muhammed Farid, Pepijn Brandon and Tristan Mostert, I contributed to an online roundtable discussion on the Bandanese Massacre of 1621 (e.g., the brutal conquest of the Banda Islands by the Dutch East India Company or VOC, all for the sake of controlling worldwide production of nutmeg and mace).  Around sixty people from all over the world participated in the Zoom call, including modern-day inhabitants of the Banda Islands and Kai Islands.
