    Annotated essay written by Wendy Steiner, professor emeritus University of Pennsylvania, will be included in her new book The Beauty of Choice: On Women, Art, and Freedom, publishing 2024 from Columbia University Press. Contextualises Beeler's work inside contemporary art practices. The book covers theoretical ground and several chapters, including Beeler's, focus on a single artist or work:  Marlene Dumas, Pablo Picasso, Barbara MacCallum, and the women’s memorial in Kosovo, “Heroines.”
