Re-vamped Dundee Design Festival 2021 launches in four city sites

Description

A rebooted, pandemic-friendly version of Dundee Design Festival 2021 has opened across four locations in the city and online.

Dr Paul Gault, programme director for Digital Interaction Design at DJCAD, University of Dundee and Dr Lynn Love, lecturer in Computer Arts at School of Design and Informatics at Abertay University have collaborated with local designers Agency of None as part of this week’s Dundee Design Festival 2021.

Together they have created a co-design tool that showcases the design process of creating a playful experience through playing a game. The Game Designer is based at the Hilltown Park in Dundee where the public can join in by imagining a new park game with a mini-game activity, then return later to see their ideas made into a full-sized game to play together.

The project is a great example of working across both institutions within the city to help further promote the value of design, particularly in parts of the wider community that might not normally engage in this type of activity.
