Description
This project was undertaken in Thailand. The picture set was created for sharing on the LINE app to raise breast cancer awareness and support women living with breast cancer. The main character, Doctor Kularb (Kularb Bomoh), was designed as a female version of the creator. The set was developed for Chomrom-Rom-Yen for use throughout the week, from Sunday to Saturday, with messages inspired by Thai LINE sticker culture that offer warmth, encouragement, and awareness.
People in Thailand extensively use LINE, a 'superapp' which works as Whatsapp amongst other things. The sticker function works similarly to people sending gif or emojis in WhatsApp, making it more casual and playful fitting the local preferences. For this project, the stickers contain verified medical information that are customised for target audiences (Thai women living with breast cancer, women who are at risk of cancer).
The images were created by Pakteema, Thanarpan Peerawong, Prince of Songkla University.
